Golf Competition with Jersey

26 July, 2019

Guernsey v Jersey Masonic Golf

Jersey hosted the annual masonic golf match on 26th July at Les Mielles GC on a lovely warm July day

The teams were evenly matched and were sent out in four balls to play for the perpetual challenge trophy.

Peter Snape captained the Jersey Team to a narrow victory over the Guernsey. Nigel Chescoe congratulated the winning team and thanked the Guernsey team for travelling and making the event such a success. Guernsey is looking forward to hosting the event next year at RGGC

As the 148th Open golf championship gets under way at Royal Port Rush this week, the annual masonic competition between Guernsey and Jersey brethren took place at les Mielles in Jersey.

Team Guernsey is represented by Brothers, Chescoe, Ingrouille, Veilard, Ward, Queripel, DesPres, Donaldson, Lund, Ellis and Ridell were expecting a tough challenge in Jersey.

Guernsey had only won this competition once in the previous five years and Jersey is the favourite on home turf. Nigel Chescoe said, “I never mind being the underdog we’re not expected to win so the pressure is on the Jersey boys, but we are in good form”.
