MUG Guernsey and the Guernsey kidney patients association to benefit from the Guernsey and Alderney Masonic golf competition
The Masonic golf society have raised over £500 for MUG Guernsey and Guernsey kidney patients association, following their charitable golf events over the past two years. Each charity will receive £250 respectively.
The event, which took place on Friday 5 April, saw a number of brethren battle it out to secure one of two trophies ahead of their inter-island golf match against Jersey on Friday 26 July at Les Mielles.
The monies raised for MUG Guernsey will go towards buying a transperineal scanner, enabling men to be examined on the island rather than travelling to the UK. The monies raised for Kidney patients association will also go towards the upkeep of their lifesaving equipment.
The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master, Keith Read awarded Worshipful Brother, Nigel Chescoe the seniors perpetual challenge trophy for the third year in a row. Worshipful Brother Gunner Queripel also had the honour of taking home the new ‘Veterans Trophy’, which was donated by Brother David Sheppard in memory of the late Worshipful Brother, John Guille who has recently passed to The Grand Lodge above.
Worshipful Brother John Burley – the past Captain of the Royal Guernsey Golf Club, 1991, also attended the masonic lunch.
For any brethren wanting to take part in the golf match against Jersey on Friday 26 July, please get in contact with Worshipful Brother Nigel Chescoe before the Easter holidays for more information and to book your flights.
